Born under the influence of No.6 - synonymous with Venus – The God of Art and Love, Vinaayak is synonymous with Art – for those who know him well – especially his university friends. Though born into a Business family with not even a distant link to art, he has taken to art forms like classical music, dance, painting, writing poetry from a very tender age – just as a fish takes to water!

At a tender age of 10 he composed several verses in Telugu – based on the ‘Bala Kaanda’ of the Ramayana. His inspiration was the lyrical narration style of story-telling introduced in the Telugu film industry by ace director ‘Bapu’.

Though not trained in classical dance, Vinaayak could effortlessly portray Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi styles to any tune played. He had even performed self-choreographed solo Dance recitals at his university, at the age of 16.

Acting is his passion. Even as children among his peer group had normally taken to cricket, marbles or tops (as in the seventies) Vinaayak and his selective group of 5 friends took to staging of plays from the puranas , during recess time at school. Later, his Guru – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba cast Vinaayak in the epic role of ‘Yashoda’ - the celebrated foster mother of Lord Krishna – during the 60th birthday celebrations of Baba in November 1985. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba had personally written the script and directed this play – titled: “Radha Krishna”.

Later in life, Vinaayak underwent an intensive acting workshop with the ‘Sutradhar School of Theatre’ at Hyderabad and played roles in 2 plays, staged for the up-market Hyderabadis in June & July 2009.

He composed several romantic poems over the last 25 years. Smt Sarojini Naidu and Sri Ravindhranath Tagore were his idols, who inspired Vinaayak towards poetry.  His first poem titled “Sankranthi” was published in The Hyderabad Public School annual magazine in March 1980, when Vinaayak was around 14 years old.
